Martin County Drug Free Communities (DFC) & Drug Free Youth Coalition
Position Type: Grant-Funded Position / CONTRACT (Employment is contingent upon continued grant funding.)
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (occasional evenings/weekends as need for events).
Location: Martin County Human Services, Stuart, Florida  (hybrid/remote/in-office options)
Pay rate: $26.44 per hour + benefits and PTO
Position Summary
The Youth Prevention Coalition Coordinator leads the implementation of the federally funded Drug Free Communities (DFC) Grant and coordinates the Martin County Drug Free Youth Coalition. This position is responsible for coalition leadership, grant management, community engagement, prevention programming, and partnership development to reduce youth substance use and promote healthy communities. Working under the direction of the Human Services Manager, the Coordinator collaborates with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, local government, nonprofit organizations, businesses, youth, and community members to achieve grant objectives and ensure compliance with all funding requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coalition & Community Leadership
· Coordinate and facilitate the Martin County Drug Free Youth Coalition.
· Recruit, engage, and retain coalition members.
· Build and maintain partnerships with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, government agencies, nonprofits, businesses, youth organizations, and community stakeholders.
· Organize coalition meetings, agendas, minutes, and presentations.
· Plan and coordinate community prevention events, trainings, and outreach activities.
· Grant & Program Management
· Coordinate all activities required under the Drug Free Communities Grant.
· Monitor grant objectives, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
· Prepare required grant reports and maintain documentation to ensure compliance.
· Assist with grant development, sustainability planning, and funding opportunities.
· Track program outcomes and collaborate with evaluators to measure effectiveness.
Youth Prevention & Community Engagement
· Develop and implement evidence-based prevention initiatives.
· Support youth leadership and participation in coalition activities.
· Conduct community assessments and partner surveys.
· Promote prevention efforts through education, presentations, and social marketing.
· Represent Martin County Human Services at meetings, conferences, and public events.
Administrative Responsibilities
· Maintain records, databases, reports, and statistical information.
· Coordinate contracts with consultants and service providers.
· Prepare correspondence and promotional materials.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of youth substance abuse prevention, coalition development, grant management, public health principles, and program evaluation.
Excellent written and verbal communication, public speaking, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
Strong organizational, project management, and data management abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, interpret grant requirements, prepare reports, and build collaborative partnerships across diverse sectors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Public Health, Social Work, Education, Public Administration, Communications, or a closely related field or an equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coordinating community coalitions, managing grant-funded programs, working in youth substance abuse prevention or public health, and conducting program evaluation and data reporting.
Required Licenses
Valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
