SUMMARY:
This is a skilled position that focuses on cooking menu items to order in a fast-paced kitchen. Work is reviewed through the Food and Beverage Managers observation, facility inspections, and written and oral reports.
In the event of a natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee may be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
Prepare food and equipment for daily operations.
Maintain accurate food inventories
Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures
Rotate stock items as per established procedures
Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
Clean and maintain concession facility and equipment; maintain safety and security of facility and equipment.
Provide prompt and quality customer service to beach patrons.
Performs work related to this job description as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of kitchen safety, maintenance and sanitation practices for the safe operation of a kitchen and kitchen equipment.
Knowledge of basic health department regulations relating to the operation of food and beverage operations and amenities.
Understand and carry out oral and/or written instructions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must possess a High School Diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma and one (1) year of experience in cooking and food preparation.
Kitchen Supervisory or management experience preferred.
Additional qualifying education and/or experience which provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted one for the other on a year for year basis.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License

Work is performed in a beach environment in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Involves frequent interaction with people.
May require attendance at night meetings and/or outdoor meetings.
May need to carry chairs, move heavy umbrellas - which need to be cautiously positioned and transported.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud and crowded.
Ability to maneuver in close spaces is required.
Position is routinely exposed to the sun, may be exposed to extreme heat or cold and windy conditions as well as works on uneven and/or slippery surfaces.
